House for sale

So - I tried to post and it failed so if this pops up more than once - Sorry. Our house is now up for sale. The house staging lady and floor guy comes in tomorrow. I need to get down to business and CLEAN:) Painters are coming to work on the doors I damaged soon. They are going to match the trim so maybe we can get a REAL match and I can go around and do touch ups. Since the company painted the outside of our house - they are giving us a great deal on painting 13 doors. with trim and all. The virtual tour and still photo guy is coming at some point so hopefully we will have photos up on the web ASAP. Here is the link to see our house website:)

After the Party...

Thank you guys so much for everything you do. The party was a spectacular event! The food was incredible, and the decorations were just perfect. Everything was so well organized, and just....fabulous! Zak and I really are very, very, very lucky to have such wonderful, thoughtful, loving people in our lives.

Again, thank you for everything.

New links!

I have added new links to the sidebar. These are links to some of our blogs. Diaryland asked for usernames and passwords, so I left them off. These are the blogs I could see easily :) If there are any more blogs (Angie?) that you want listed, let me know. Or if there are some important links, like the CMA site perhaps, I'll get around to adding those too. And changing up the template view as well.

Yay!

Maple Leaf Symbolism

Hi guys!

Ok, so I was researching the symbolism behind the maple leaf, and I found some things that I thought I would share with you. I know I mentioned it after our initiation ceremonies, but I thought it'd be nice to have it posted somewhere.

THE MAPLE (Independence of Mind) - no ordinary person, full of imagination and originality, shy and reserved, ambitious, proud, self-confident, hungers for new experiences, sometimes nervous, has many complexities, good memory, learns easily, complicated love life, wants to impress.

Traditional Magickal Uses: Love spells. A child passed through the branches of a maple tree will have a long life, although he may outlive all his loved ones.

Other Magical Uses: One of the names for the maple tree in Old Anglo-Saxon was Hlin, and this is one of the handmaidens of Frigga. Hlin is the goddess of mourning, and maple sugar or syrup can be used in potions to get beyond mourning for someone, reminding them that life is still sweet. Also, as maple is one of the craftsman's woods and the rune Yr is sometimes given to craftspeople to aid their skill, a maple talisman can be carved with this rune.

Red - maintaining health, strength, physical energy, sex, passion, courage & protection. Used in defensive Magick. Element of fire. Associated with life, death and intense emotions.

I think this describes us rather well, don't you??

Meeting dates

As far as I understand, there is no meeting this Sunday because it's Mother's Day. The next meeting for some of us is the 20th and for all of us is the 28th. Does that sound right to everyone?

Remember we also have group photos at the Horizon Unitarian Universalist Church (at the hafla) on the 27th. We are meeting at 6 or as close as we can get to it, and we'll be a little flexible since Jess et al will be trying to get the hafla going. I unfortunately won't be there till 6:15 or 6:30 since I work till 6 that day. :(

See you guys soon!

Oh one last thing. Do we want this to be a public place where friends and family can come read and hang out, or private just for us? If public, what content is acceptable and what isn't? Lemme know and I'll make it happen!

Aloha!
